Have you ever dreamed about something big, told a friend or someone close to you, only to hear them shut it all the way down and leave you feeling discouraged? Or Perhaps, the dream you envisioned was so big that the fear of not being able to accomplish it, caused you to freeze in fear and never pursue it. Let me encourage you to dust off the hate, overcome the fear, and chase after those dreams.
I can remember reading in a book: the most read book of all times; the best-selling book of all times; one that is inspired by God Himself; Yes, you have it, The Bible! I read that, as believers, we are supposed to dream. Not only shall we dream, but we should do it BIG! God is the One that gives us the dreams: Acts 2:17. When we allow our imagination to surpass the things we see with our natural eye, God says that He can do exceedingly, abundantly, above, and beyond that; but it is according to the power that works within us: Ephesians 3:20-21. So what is it that you are dreaming about? Is it starting that business, obtaining that degree, marrying the man/woman of your dreams, writing a book, traveling the world?……. I can go on and on about the things we dream about. The most uplifting thing about having a dream is that nothing is impossible if YOU BELIEVE: Mark 9:23 (KJV).
Okay, let’s talk for a minute about those you’ve shared your dreams with. Sometimes when we decide to do this, we don’t get the response we want. First of all, you can’t share your dreams with everybody; especially if the dream seems out of reach. God didn’t give them the vision; He gave it to you. So, you can’t expect for them to have the same level of excitement about it as you do. They are not in your heart, mind, or your spirit; which is where God drops these things we dream about. Better yet, they are not in your prayer closet when God is revealing all these things to you or when you are praying in faith for God to move on your behalf concerning them. Don’t be moved by their lack of faith, because it is not their faith that is going to bring it to pass; it’s YOUR faith! Remember in Mark 6: 1-5 (MSG), when Jesus was trying to perform miracles in His hometown? He couldn’t, because of the people’s stubbornness, unbelief, and familiarity towards Him. The Bible says that these were “His relatives and people He played with as a child”. They didn’t believe that He could possess the ability to do something big in their city. Well, it’s no different with us; His followers. Many times it’s the people close to us that refuse the anointing that is on our lives because they can’t get past what little they think they know about us. Don’t let that stop you. God will raise up some more faith-filled people to support you along the way. People with platforms and influence that will thrust you into that dream. All you have to do is get moving!
Now, I am not going to spend much energy on the spirit of fear that often comes over us when we are called to do something big. 2 Timothy 1: 7 (KJV) tells us that God, the One who gave you the dream, has not given you the spirit of fear. Besides, fear is a name and it is subject to the name of Jesus. So, there you have it. Take fear, bind it up by the blood of the lamb, cut it off at its root, and move forward in your dreams with boldness; knowing that God wants to do far more than you can ever think or imagine. Let this day be the beginning of anything you want; including those dreams! In Jesus Name, Amen! Just some nuggets for your soul. Be Blessed!
